TAMS (Toward A Magnificent Self)

My name is Tami Anastasia and I have merged the two disciplines of counseling and personal training to form TAMS health and wellness programs. TAMS is located in Los Gatos, California. I have spent years working with people to overcome their exercise barriers and to make exercise a healthy lifestyle habit. Not:

a habit that is motivated by guilt
or
a habit that is motivated by self – deprecation
or
a habit that is motivated by shame

Rather a habit that makes you feel good physically, mentally and emotionally.

            Due to unrealistic cultural standards and recommendations, we have developed a negative relationship with exercise only to be frustrated with ourselves and our body. Exercise has become more of a psychological issue than a physical issue. As a result of trying to conform to old cultural standards and guidelines, we have developed counterproductive ways of thinking that sabatoge our exercise efforts. It’s time to breakthrough the barriers that hold you back. It’s time to set yourself up for success.
I specialize in working with people who are out of shape, overweight, sedentary, inactive, and/or with medical conditions such as diabetes, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, and/or suffer from chronic pain, and/or depression.
Earning a Masters Degree in Counseling, I’ve been encouraged for many years to “share my insights and observations” about exercise, body image and self – esteem. First, I became a motivational speaker and started presenting motivational workshops. Second, I became an author and wrote an inspirational book titled Toward A Magnificent Self (The Exercise Book For Every Body). Third, with the advances of the internet, I thought it was time to “share my insights and observations.”  Also, there will be postings on TAMS (Toward A Magnificent Self) website as to when I will be doing speaking engagements, book signings and motivational workshops.
The purpose of TAMS (Toward A Magnificent Self) is to provide thought provoking ideas. TAMS encourages and invites people of all ages, sizes, shapes, fitness levels, and people with various health conditions to dialogue and share your concerns or frustrations, to make suggestions or comments, and to put into practice being good to yourself.
